Two bond issues were passed on May 1, 1926 for a total of $ 250,000. Of these funds $175,000 was for a new high school. The $75,000 issue was for converting the Clark County High School into a Junior High School, repairing the 1910 Grammar School, and a two room addition to the Westside School building. The high school bonds passed by a vote of 305 to 153 and the $75,000 issue carried by a vote of 290 to 141.

On November 2, 1926 a new election was held to correct defects in the May 1, 1926 bond election. The question concerned the issuing of $50,000 for remodeling the old 1910 grammar school and building additional rooms for Las Vegas Elementary School District No. 12 (Las Vegas only). This issue passed 829 for and 255 against. The question of $200,000 for High School bonds passed 892 to 381. Note the turnout was much larger than the previous election. Bids to build Las Vegas High School were opened on May 23, 1929. The school opened in September 1930.

Note: In 1918, Clark County was divided into three Educational Districts. No. 1 included all the elementary and high schools in the Overton and Bunkerville area. No. 2 included the rest of the county for high school education only. No. 12 included only Las Vegas elementary schools. In the spring of 1925, the Clark County High School at Las Vegas (District No. 2) and the Las Vegas elementary schools (District No. 12) were consolidated to become the Las Vegas Union School District, remaining so until county consolidation in 1956. After 1926, bond legal notices continued to refer to Districts No. 1, No 2 and No. 12 for legal purposes.
