Mesquite

By 1899 a lumber school house\church was in use in Mesquite. In 1899 teachers, students and parents assembled for this photo.

Students and teachers assembled in front of the Mesquite school house on February 21, 1902. (Note: this is the same building as that featured off to the left).

1907  The Nevada Education Reform Act reauthorized the State Department of Education which divided the state into five educational districts with a deputy superintendent for each of the 14 Nevada counties. What is now Clark County became part of the Fifth Educational Supervision District. Prior to the Reform Act the county district attorney served as Superintendent of Schools in each county.
