Bunkerville
1918 Educational District No. 1 was formed, which included Mesquite, Bunkerville, Overton, Logandale, Moapa and Dry Lake. This new Education District was created to allow the Virgin Valley and Moapa Valley high school students to remain in their own communities for 9-12 grades. Previous to this date, the County Commissioners and the City of Las Vegas required all County high school students to attend the Clark County High School in Las Vegas. Both Virgin and Moapa Valleys felt the distance from Las Vegas was causing great havoc to the youth. After the creation of Educational District No. 1 both Moapa and Virgin Valley worked together by combining attendance numbers, in order to be in a better position to compete for state funding. Educational District No. 1 existed from this date until the County consolidation in 1956.

1918 The flu epidemic closed all schools in Clark County and Miss Connelly took 6 of her Normal School students from Bunkerville to White Rock a few miles from Bunkerville until it was safe to return. These young teachers had classroom students of their own in the fall.
