Federal and State Grants
Over the years a number of schools were built in Clark County with monetary grants from the Federal Government and/or the State of Nevada. Most notable were Boulder City and Henderson schools built prior to 1956. These funds came as either outright grants or as matching grants.

Boulder City Schools 1932-1956
During construction of Hoover Dam the Federal Government built a sixteen-room elementary school in 1932. In 1933 the Boulder City School District was formed. High school students attended Las Vegas High School until 1941. An addition to the school in 1941 permitted a K-12 program in Boulder City. Through several federal agencies funds were provided for the classroom section of a new Boulder City Junior/Senior High School in 1950. Gymnasium and shop facilities were added in 1952. Grounds and athletic fields were added in intervening years. Boulder City School District became part of the Clark County School District with the 1956 county consolidation.
